Paid with Passion: Talents and their Finances | Berlinale Talents 2022
Passion does not substitute the need to earn a living. This year, Berlinale Talents has conducted a Talents Focus Survey in line with their intention to investigate labour in film in all its dimensions and gain a better understanding of the broader economic situation filmmakers face. Beyond individual situations, Berlinale Talents discusses the values, monetary and otherwise, behind filmmaking, reflects on the relevance of education (or even the access to it) and seeks out avenues for systematic change where necessary.
"Labours of Cinema: Berlinale Talents 2022 official selection
Berlinale Talents is celebrating its 20th birthday. Since 2003, the Berlinale’s multidisciplinary talent initiative has grown to nearly 10,000 alumni and has actively shaped the industry with this community of thirteen film trades. From 12 to 17 February 2022, a new cohort of 200 Talents from over 70 countries joins the fold: connecting them digitally worldwide, we count on them to broaden our horizons and to inspire the wider film community!
